Rabbi Mendel and Mussie Heller are the founders and directors of Chabad of Carefree, serving the Jewish community of Carefree, Cave Creek, and the surrounding area.

Rabbi Mendel grew up in London, where he was immersed in Jewish learning, community life, and the values of helping others. He received a strong Jewish education and has experience in teaching, outreach, and building meaningful connections with people of all backgrounds.

Mussie grew up nearby in North Phoenix, in a family devoted to Jewish communal life. Her warmth, creativity, and love for people help make every program and interaction feel personal and welcoming.

Together with their son, Moshe, Rabbi Mendel and Mussie are excited to make Carefree their home and to build lasting relationships with Jewish individuals and families throughout the area.

They came to Carefree with a shared sense of purpose: to be there for every local Jew and to help create a warm, vibrant, and caring Jewish community.

Whether through a class, holiday celebration, Shabbat dinner, personal visit, or simple conversation, Rabbi Mendel and Mussie look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and helping you connect with Jewish life in a way that feels meaningful and personal.

Their home and hearts are open, and they warmly invite you to reach out and introduce yourself.
